CA Varun Vijaywargi heads the Indirect Tax practice at the firm and is a fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India with 21 years standing in the profession. His work covers GST, Customs, Foreign Trade Policy, departmental proceedings and indirect-tax advisory for businesses across sectors.
He has assisted clients in transition to the GST regime and advises on indirect-tax implications of business models, supply chains, cross-border transactions and tax litigation. His experience also covers UAE VAT advisory, excise, service tax, central sales tax, VAT, import duty matters, Foreign Trade Policy matters, departmental audits and investigations. Prior to starting the firm, he served with ELP and JCSS.
CA Pavan Khabiya heads the Tax Compliance practice at VK&S and oversees audits and ongoing compliance work. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2003 and has extensive experience in handling tax matters across both direct and indirect taxation.
His work covers consolidation of financial statements, due diligence reviews of accounting functions, implementation of accounting standards, development of internal control systems and special audit assignments. His financial due diligence work for M&A includes assessment of business risks, growth drivers and potential deal breakers. He also oversees the firm's income tax litigation practice and represents clients before adjudicating and appellate authorities up to CIT (Appeals). Prior to starting this firm, he was part of the tax team at Krishna Murari Agrawal & Co.
CA Ashish Saoji leads the Project Financing vertical of the firm and has extensive experience in preparing detailed project reports and proposals for bank credit facilities. He has completed the Diploma in Information System Audit (DISA) of ICAI and holds a post-graduation degree in commerce as well as a bachelor's degree in law.
His work covers advisory and financial monitoring during project implementation, optimisation of finance cost including ROI, bank charges and stamp duty implications, and assistance in obtaining Eligibility Certificates and yearly Industrial Promotion Subsidy claims under the Package Scheme of Incentives. He is also a qualified Insolvency Professional and has assisted debt-laden companies before the NCLT.
